How to Stay on Trend with the Season
Without Losing Your Brand Voice

Halloween Edition.

I love the end-of-year season! Halloween, Black Friday, Christmas, it’s a whirlwind, but it’s also one of the best times to refresh your visuals and connect with your audience in a different way.

Halloween especially is a favourite of mine. It’s that creative moment when brands can show a little humour, loosen up, and get personal, all without losing their identity.

The trick (pun intended) is staying on-brand while playing with seasonal energy.

Staying On-Brand (and On-Season)

For Halloween you don’t need to cover everything in fake cobwebs or turn your packaging orange to feel festive. Staying relevant is more about interpretation than imitation.

If your brand’s personality fits, go all out! Bats, witches, sparkles, the whole thing! The key is to make sure it still feels like you.

A few ways to get the balance right:

Start with your colour palette – If your colours are pink, use pink pumpkins instead of orange. Keep your visual language consistent with a seasonal twist.

Play with tone – Show a different side of your brand: playful, cheeky, or mysterious, just stay true to your voice.

Add subtle props or textures – Autumn foliage, candlelight, or rich fabrics can nod to the season without overpowering your product.

Use seasonal storytelling – “Your skin’s best friend for cosy nights in” lands better than “our autumn sale.”

Whether you go bright with orange tones or paint the pumpkins pink, staying on-brand doesn’t mean staying predictable, it’s about inviting your audience into your world.

Staying Ahead (Even Now)

October’s here, and the last call for seasonal updates has begun. But there’s still time to get with the season. And it doesn’t have to be all themed, you can plan smart and create versatile, reusable visuals that shift easily from autumn warmth to a festive feel.

It’s the perfect time to keep your brand feeling fresh without starting from scratch.
